The SPA, designed by Studio Silvia Giannini Architects for Hotel Villa Undulna 4*, was created with the goal of integrating a wet area into the complex’s existing services, complementing the indoor thermal pool and individual treatment rooms.
Set within one of the rare Italian thermal facilities near the sea, the SPA covers an area of 250 sqm and blends wellness, materials, and landscape. The circuit includes a sauna, steam bath with chromotherapy, emotional showers, a Kneipp circuit, and a relaxation area with heated waterbeds.
The facility utilizes salt-bromine-iodine thermal waters and peat, an organic substance derived from the millennial transformation of specific plant species in the nearby Lake Massaciuccoli.
The project highlights the connection to the local area through the exclusive use of marble—specifically the Calacatta Luccicoso variety from nearby quarries—inlaid with Verde Alpi marble using waterjet cutting.
