The client sought to renovate the mud therapy department and the wellness center within the 4-star thermal hospitality facility, Terme San Giovanni.
The wellness area, designed by Studio Silvia Giannini Architects, spans 450 square meters and includes 22 treatment cabins, some equipped with thermal water pools.
One of the cabins was conceived as a true Private SPA, featuring a couple’s thermal hydromassage tub and a steam bath. The mud therapy department was thus reinterpreted beyond its purely medical dimension, complementing conventional health service treatments with wellness proposals utilizing mud.
The plaster volutes of the basins were custom-designed, contributing to the definition of the ambiance’s identity. In 2009, the project won the Spa Design Award in the “Mineral Spring Spa” category.
