The Client Background: The client desired a complete renovation of the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni’s SPA, expanding its offerings with exclusive wellness services and strengthening the property’s wellness identity.
The project, designed by Studio Silvia Giannini Architects and developed across 1,000 sq m, includes two heated indoor pools with water features—one for adults and one for children—a sauna, steam bath, sensory shower, relaxation areas, hairdresser, seven single and couple treatment cabins, a Private SPA, and a 70 sq m hammam.
The intervention is integrated into the history of an iconic property, owned by the Bucher family for over a hundred years and four generations, which has hosted distinguished guests over time, including royalty, political figures, artists, and international cultural luminaries.
The design is based on elegant and essential lines, with geometries highlighted by large stoneware slabs in shades of blue and pink, colors that evoke the light of the lake.
The hammam was conceived as an authentic ritualistic journey, featuring a caldarium, tepidarium, and a table for savonnage. Here, treatments inspired by the Turkish bath tradition, a symbol of the encounter between Eastern and Western cultures, are offered.
